Shveta Raina is the Founder and CEO of Talerang, a career readiness platform with the mission to create a work-ready India. Since its inception in 2013, Talerang has reached close to 30 million students, with over 500,000 learners trained through programmes spanning school students, undergraduates, and young professionals, covering everything from career competitions and leadership training to employability coaching. Shveta built Talerang from an independent research project she led at Harvard Business School, under the guidance of Professor Narayan Das, to find a scalable solution to India's employability crisis. Her pilots were funded by a grant from Harvard's Social Enterprise Initiative. She graduated with Honours from Harvard Business School, in approximately the top 15% of her class, and with the Horace Goldsmith Fellowship for Social Enterprise. She also holds a Magna Cum Laude degree from Brown University in Applied Mathematics, International Studies, and Economics. Before entrepreneurship, Shveta worked at McKinsey & Company in New York, where she founded and ran the Female Business Analyst Mentorship Program for North America. She was also the youngest Director at Teach For India, giving her first-hand insight into what work-readiness looks like at scale, and what most graduates lack when they enter the workforce. Shveta has been recognised as one of India Inc's Rising Women Leaders by the Economic Times and a Woman of Courage by India Today. She has received the Women Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Inbush World Summit 2018, the DMA Woman Changemaker Social Innovation Award 2022, and was selected for the global DiasporaNEXT Social Entrepreneurs List 2022. She is also State President, Maharashtra of the Association of Business Women in Commerce & Industry (ABWCI). A TEDx speaker, she has also spoken at the Harvard India Conference and at UN Young Changemakers. Her podcast "Bano Job Ready" focused on career readiness for Indian students, is live on Amazon Audible with two seasons.
