Upasana Makati is a multi-award-winning founder & publisher of White Print, D&I advisor, and author. She became the pioneer of braille journalism in the country when she launched White Print - India’s first English lifestyle magazine in braille in 2013. Ever since, Upasana has continued to champion diversity & inclusion across various industries via consultancy, corporate training sessions and motivational talks. For the last two years she was an integral part of the global D&I Board at international private members club Soho House; and is a seasoned Tedx speaker having been part of Tedx BITS Hyderabad, TedxGateway Women and TedxYouth DPS Gurgaon. She is deeply invested in cultural heritage, especially stories, and is committed to saving the literary heritage of India. As a motivational speaker, Upasana has shared her journey at platforms, organisations and institutes such as Axis Bank, Deutsche Bank, Group M, Sheroes Women's Conference, 'I am Tomorrow' - London edition, National Institute of Design - Bangalore, NMIMS University, and IIM Udaipur among many others. A firm believer in imparting values of inclusivity from a young age, Upasana forayed into publishing children's literature in 2018. She has published three illustrated storybooks - Look Out, Look Within (2018) Flowers for Sunaina (2020), and also turned author with Run Saba, Run! (2022) — all aimed at gently shattering myths surrounding the lives of persons with blindness through the medium of storytelling. After graduating in mass media and journalism from Mumbai University (2010), and then studying corporate communications and public relations at University of Ottawa (2011), Upasana most recently pursued an online course on ‘Leveraging Diversity & Inclusion for Organisational Excellence’ from Stanford Graduate School of Business (2022).
